Women in Credit Information and Resource Centre (WCIRC)
Islamabad, Pakistan.
Main Aims:
- To collect, collate and analyze all relevant data obtained from NGOs, Banks, CBOs, Government agencies, Donors, other resource centres and any other organizations involved in micro credit in Pakistan.
- To collect disaggregated data from sources such as the Federal Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Women's Development, and to carry out on-going research into various aspects of women and micro-enterprise development in Pakistan.
- To extend a support system to ensure effective utilization of credit, by identifying organizations which provide training to women in entrepreneurship development and management, and by providing a credit help line at WCIRC premises. To assist beneficiaries in accessing loans through the formal banking sector.
- To establish an archive of published and unpublished material on credit and women, as well as a data bank on micro-enterprise development. To disseminate as much information as possible, to interested parties. To produce a quarterly newsletter highlighting activities related to women and micro credit.
