Help in using
the Virtual Library on Microcredit

The Internet This compilation assumes a basic knowledge of Internet commands, such as gopher, telnet, ftp and email. Introductions to the Internet are now found in most good bookstores, as well as on the Net itself. Two popular works are Brendan P. Kehoe, "Zen and the Art of the Internet," Englewood, NJ: Prentice Hall, 1993 (2nd ed.); and Ed Krol, "The Whole Internet User's Guide & Catalog," Sebastopol, CA: O'Reilly & Associates, Inc., 1992). Remember that the internet functions on the maxim, ASK, PEOPLE KNOW.

Indexing First time visitors are encouraged to explore the list of 10 things you can do in the Homepage. Links under "About the Homepage" or the GDRC Site Map (click on 'Microfinance') also gives an idea of the structure and content of the homepage.

Display and Layout Distorted displays of the homepage may be caused by the screen resolution settings. The optimal resolution for this Homepage is 1024 x 768 at 256 colours. Lower resolutions may cause overlapped images/text layouts. Please also ensure that you are using the latest version of your browser. Backgrounds, tables, and font colours may display differently with older versions.

Browsers Different browsers may treat the documents differently. Hence images and or layout may be distorted. Also note that default settings (font, colours etc.) of each user may also affect the display. Every effort will be made to make the layouts friendly to as many browsers as possible, including Lynx.
