- VEZA International: VEZA International provides a financial base for the poorest of the poor in rural Malawi to obtain micro-credit. A combination of start up grants and savings mobilisation provides access to improved maize seed and fertiliser. The additional income generated by the improved inputs are the basis for the capilization of new local village credit unions. This along with soil conservation and marketing assistance becomes a sustainable development process.
- The Vietnam Bank for the Poor: The Vietnam Bank for the Poor (VBP) was formally established by decision 525/TTG issued by the Prime Minister's Office on 31 August 1995. The stated objectives of the VBP, a non-profit bank, are to alleviate poverty through the provision of credit and improve the credit system. The VBP has a central operation unit in Hanoi and regional offices in the Centre and South. It also has representation at the province and district level, but does not set up new offices or infrastructure at the province level and below. Instead it makes use of existing networks of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture (VBA), under terms of an agency agreement. The target VBP operations in 1996 was to extend credit credit to 1.5 million poor households.
