Reflections on the Development of Websites or Potholes-on-the-Information-Highway-they-don't-tell-you-about
Hari Srinivas
Coordinator, GDRC

Despite the considerable strides that information and Internet technology has taken in recent years, information management has not quite kept up with it. Many entrenched mind-blocks still exist, preventing organizations from realizing the full potential of websites and other Internet initiative.

Developing a website on the internet is a continuous dynamic process that needs to focus more on the presentation and management of content, rather than on computers, connectivity or the 'bells-and-whistles' features.

Lessons learnt at GDRC, shared with many other organizations, have been documented in a slide presentation. Using a clichéd term - "information highway" - the presentation looks at 'potholes' that nobody told us about!
