Sustainable Tourism Infosheets are short one-page documents covering a range of topics and issues, and the interlinkages among them. They are not in-depth documents, but only provide a brief introduction to various themes.

Overarching impact
Over 842 million people travel internationally in 2007 and this is expected to reach 1.6 billion by 2020. As a result, travel and tourism is expected to represent 3.6% of total global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2007, and 10.3 per cent if include tourism related business (eg transport, catering, cleaning). (UNWTO, 2006)
