Several self-help groups in a village were formed based on their own choice of members. All members saved money - with each group deciding on the frequency and amount of savings to be made. The group opens a joint bank account operated by at least three approved members of the group. Pooled savings is lent to its members on a need basis, with terms and conditions decided by themselves.
