It has a permanent secretariat with six paid employees, including a full-time executive director.
The mission of GHAMFIN is to coordinate and support the activities of microfinance institutions with a view to promoting the development of an efficient and sustainable microfinance industry in Ghana. Its long-term objectives are to: strengthen the capacity of MFIs through training; sensitize government and shareholders on microfinance issues; and encourage more MFIs to join the network.
